About Us
Our Story
Schmidt Insurance Services Inc. was originally founded in 1970 by Clarence Schmidt, Lois’s father, under the name Smitty’s Insurance. Clarence passed away in 1981 and Lois and her mother, R. Helen, operated the business together until 1984. Helen retired in 1984 and Lois purchased the agency and it became Schmidt Insurance Services. In 1986 the agency moved to its current location at 6 West First Avenue in Odessa.
The Wilbur location was purchased in 2016 and moved to it’s current location at 203 NW Main Ave in July 2020.

Lois Hubbard
President
Lois is a graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Business Management. She has been an agent since 1981 when she graduated college and returned to Odessa to operate the family business. She enjoys her family, playing music, quilting, travel, gardening, and golf. After years of kidney dialysis, Lois was blessed to receive a lifesaving kidney transplant from a living donor in March of 2013.
Sherry Watkins, Agent
Crop Insurance Specialist
Sherry Watkins began working for Schmidt Insurance Services in 1986. She has over 30 years experience in Crop Insurance. She has experienced many changes to the Multi-Peril Crop Insurance program in her years of service to the agency. Sherry is married and has three grown daughters. When not spending time with her family, Sherry enjoys traveling, gardening, and relaxing by her Koi pond.
Heidi Moffet
Agent
Heidi started her insurance career in 2015 after working 10 years in the agriculture industry. She is a graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Psychology. Heidi lives in Odessa, Washington with her husband and has three children and two grandchildren. She enjoys baking, hanging out with her family and friends, and being outdoors.
Angela Smith
Agent
Angela came to insurance in 2021 after a 30-year career in Customer Service and Retail. She is licensed to sell all lines of insurance but would most love to help you with your Life & Health needs. When not working she is enjoying small town life in Harrington with her husband. She has many hobbies and is usually crocheting at her desk during her lunch break; she also loves quilting and don’t get her started on genealogy.
